It seems that the reputable resources I’ve been reading, and the ones most recommended, all say something to the effect of this: IF baby cries, she might need changing, feeding, be gassy, etc. There’s always a reason for her to be crying. But what if she’s simply crying because she’s a baby? Apparently babies do that. So I’m not a bad mother because I can’t figure out how to make it stop. And when I give up trying, then she cries for 2 more agonizing minutes–and then stops all on her own. Yep. Sometimes babies just need to cry.
That’s not to say that I don’t do everything in my power to try and solve the reason for her crying. Of course, I have no way of knowing, since I still haven’t figured out what her cries mean. Where is the baby whisperer by the way? That’s probably best left for another day.
